Lakers Make Bronny James Move After Win vs Bulls

After a successful night against the depleted Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers have announced several minor roster moves, which include the standout prospect, Bronny James.

The three could be available for South Bay’s outing against the Iowa Wolves on March 13. The game tips at 10 PM ET.

Lakers Pick Up Big Win vs Chicago Bulls

In a high-scoring battle against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, the Lakers saw a Luka Doncic masterclass.

The superstar scorer produced 51 points, reaching the 50-point mark for the first time during his Lakers stint. The veteran guard Austin Reaves contributed 30 points of his own, while the returning LeBron James had 18 points on the night. The front court combination of Deandre Ayton and Rui Hachimura all had a hand in the high-scoring battle as well.

The Lakers defeated the Bulls 142-130. It wasn’t all that close in the end, but the game didn’t reach garbage time, which could’ve helped gain the prospects some minutes in the end.

How Is Bronny James’ G League Run Going?

At this point, Bronny James has played in just as many G League outings as last season. During the 2024-2025 run with the South Bay Lakers, Bronny averaged 21.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. He shot 44% from the field and 38% from three.

This time around, Bronny Jaes has produced 15.5 points per game, while knocking down 54% of his shots from the field and 42% of his threes. James is coming down with 2.9 rebounds per game and dishing out 3.6 assists per game.

As for the other prospects, the 2025 second-round pick Thiero has been touted as a G League standout this year.

In five games, he has posted averages of 14.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, while hitting on 68% of his field goals.

Kobe Bufkin, a former first-round pick, is working on convincing the Lakers he’s worth staying with the primary roster. After starting his career with the Atlanta Hawks, Bufkin has been a star in the G League for the Lakers. He signed a two-year deal with the Lakers. They have a $2.4 million club option to decide on in late June.
