The Kansas City Chiefs will have the ninth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Kansas City has a lot of holes on its roster. They finished with an 6-11 record during the 2025 NFL season.

The Chiefs have a lot of issues on the offensive line and the defensive line. Kansas City may not be a few pieces away from being contenders again in the AFC. They may have their championship window closed, so they need to look towards the future.
Kansas City Chiefs Select Linebacker Sonny Styles In Latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft

Garrett Podell of CBSSports.com created his latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft. He has the Chiefs selecting Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Sonny Styles with that ninth pick. Styles has been amazing during the NFL scouting combine. Podell said, “Sonny Styles’ historic combine performance led to him being compared physically to Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin “Megatron” Johnson. The Chiefs saw linebacker Leo Chenal walk in free agency, and even though Kansas City has a glaring need at cornerback, general manager Brett Veach drafts the best player available.”
Styles is 6’4″ and weighs 243 lbs. He recorded 83 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one interception, and three pass deflections. Styles is the best linebacker in this draft. The Chiefs can very well draft him ninth overall. However, there is a chance that he could be off the board by the time Kansas City is on the clock. They maybe better off with going with an offensive lineman or a defenseman lineman at the ninth pick anyways also.
