Contract details for P Cameron Johnston and OT Jack Driscoll have been revealed. A pair of similar one-year contracts, both qualify as veteran benefit deals, per NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
Johnston’s contract is for $1.3 million. Driscoll’s is for $1.402 million and carries a $187,500 signing bonus. The veteran benefit nature of each contract gives Pittsburgh a little bit of cap savings.

Both deals were expected to be for the minimum, making these contract details unsurprising. Johnston returns after losing out to P Corliss Waitman during a 2025 training camp battle. Recovering from a 2024 knee injury and punting well last preseason, Johnston narrowly fell to Waitman, whose left-footed nature gave him the edge.
Johnston appeared in four games for the Buffalo Bills before suffering another injury. Healthy late in the season, he filled in for one game with the New York Giants. Currently the only punter on roster, he’ll compete with whoever else Pittsburgh brings in this offseason. Hinted by LS Christian Kuntz, Waitman could be returning on a similar one-year deal after being non-tendered by the Steelers.
For his career, Johnston’s appeared in 100 games. He boasts a 47.2-yard gross average and led the NFL in punts and punting yards during the 2021 season.
Pittsburgh ranked 25th in gross punting in 2025, a figure it will look to be improve under new special teams coordinator Danny Crossman and assistant Derius Swinton II.
Driscoll signed with the Steelers’ practice squad midway through last season. Elevated to the 53-man roster late in the year, he never appeared in a regular-season game. An experienced and versatile lineman with a background at both tackle spots and guard, he’ll compete for a roster spot throughout the summer.
A former fourth-round pick, Driscoll’s appeared in 67 games with 18 starts. He last logged regular-season snaps with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, making 13 appearances with one start.
