Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors reacts after he had an assist to Gary Payton II #0 in the third quarter of their game against the Miami Heat at Chase Center on January 19, 2026 in San Francisco, California.

The latest Stephen Curry injury updatesignals the star will miss at least another ten days for the Golden State Warriorswith his ‘runner’s knee’ issuethat has lingered since late January. While that was the third time in a row the team has announced a ‘ten-day’ re-evaluation timeline, a new potential injury return date could mean Curry wouldget back on the court in a very important game for Golden State.

Based on the Warriors’ upcoming schedule, the game Curry would be able to returnin would beone against the Atlanta Hawks, and more specifically, against Jonathan Kuminga, on March 21.

The Warriors will rule out Steph Curry for another 10 days, stretching five more games, sources tell me and @ShamsCharania. There has been notable progress. He’s back on the court and expected to intensify workouts in upcoming days. Absence will reach at least 20 games.

That would require Curry to come back soon after heis fully cleared from his injury, but the latest update on the star signals he wants to get back to action as soon as possible for the Bay Area team.

Steph Curry Injury Return Could Come Against Jonathan Kuminga And Hawks

According to Anthony Slater and Shams Charania, also confirmed by the Warriors themselves, Curry willbe re-evaluated on March 21.It comes after the star has been facing a knee injury that has kept him outfor 15 games since late January, with an issue that hasn’tturned a corner yet for the two-time MVP.

However, according to Slater, Curry is ramping up from the injury and wants toget back on the court as soon as he’s able.

“Curry has advanced to court work in recent days, which is a significant step in his attempted return,” he wrote. “Team sources have continued to describe Curry as extremely motivated to return for the stretch run and try to work the wobbling Warriors into the playoffs through the play-in bracket. He will intensify court work in the coming days.”

With that, it could be fair to say that the next time Curryis re-evaluated, he couldbe set for an injury return that would come against Kuminga and the Hawks.

“However, it’s still notable that Curry’s earliest return date does align with a potential grudge matchup against Kuminga and the Hawks,” Peter O’Keefe wrote for BlueManHoop.com. “As much as Kuminga and the Warriors may play down the meeting publicly, there’s no doubt there will be some motivation on both sides after how his career played out at the franchise.”

The Warriors traded Kuminga at the deadline to Atlanta after a lengthy saga that was in dire need of being put to bed. While Golden State got Kristaps Porzingis back in return, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say the Hawks were the winners in that deal, as Kuminga has averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds for his new team.

The March 21 matchup wouldcome in Atlanta rather than Golden State, but a potential Curry returncoming in the game against Kuminga would make for some very interesting storylines.

Warriors Injury Report vs Timberwolves

While Golden Statewaits for Curry tobe re-evaluated,and hopefullyfor the team to return as soon as possible, the Bay Area franchise has other players listed on the injury report.

In the lead-up to the Warriors’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night, Moses Moody (wrist) and Jimmy Butler (ACL) have both been ruled out. Butler is out for the season with his torn ACL, while Moodyis set to miss his fifth game in a row with a wrist sprain.

De’Anthony Melton and Quinten Post are both listed as questionable for the game with different injuries.

In good news for the Warriors, Porzingisis set to play on Friday against the Timberwolves, as he’sbeen cleared after dealing with a ‘mystery illness‘ that has clouded his early tenure with the franchise.

Kristaps Porzingis is cleared for a fourth game with the Warriors tomorrow night against the Timberwolves. De’Anthony Melton is questionable. Moses Moody is out.

But for now, getting Curry back healthy remains the most important thing for this Golden State team, and he could return from his knee injury in a grudge match against Kuminga and the Hawks.
