Everton have been involved in every single Premier League season since the First Division was rebranded in 1992.
The Toffees are one of six sides never to be relegated from the Premier League across the last 34 years, but such frequent involvement in the division meant Everton held the unwanted record of most goals conceded in Premier League history – shipping 1,666 goals in 1,295 games.
Now, however, not one, but two sides have leapfrogged Everton in this table.

West Ham and Tottenham struggles see Everton thankfully drop to third in list of Premier League goals conceded
The Hammers and Spurs are still at risk of relegation this season, and as they toil at the top table of English football, Everton have finally managed to shake off this record.
(1992/93 campaign to 2023/24 season)
Club Goals Conceded Games Played
Everton 1589 1228
Tottenham Hotspur 1562 1228
West Ham United 1558 1072
Newcastle United 1512 1110
Aston Villa 1460 1114
As you can see, Everton had conceded the most goals in Premier League history heading into the 2024/25 campaign with 1,589 concessions in 1,228 games.
However, a miserable 18 months for West Ham and Tottenham have finally seen Everton lose top spot for the first time in 21 years.

Tottenham will actually sit top of this table if they concede two more goals than West Ham this weekend. The Hammers face Manchester City in east London on Saturday night while Spurs take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, so both London clubs could be in for a hammering.
Only Arsenal (22) and Manchester City (27) have shipped fewer than the 33 goals Everton have conceded in the Premier League so far this season, largely thanks to the outstanding Jordan Pickford.
The Gunners and the Citizens are also the only sides with more clean sheets than the Toffees – who have kept ten so far this term – with 14 and 12 respectively.
Moyes’ current deal expires next year… 🤔
Everton manager David Moyes.
In that respect, Everton seem highly unlikely to end up at the top of this table once again, barring a major shock in which West Ham and Tottenham both go down this season.
