New Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is embracing the culture. Pittman, whose first six NFL seasons took place in Indianapolis with the Colts, the AFC South franchise shipped him to Pittsburgh to join forces with DK Metcalf, and, most likely, Aaron Rodgers.
They all would play under Mike McCarthy, who will have his first coaching gig since leaving the Dallas Cowboys at the end of the 2024 season. Pittman joined “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday to discuss his move to the Steelers. He had nothing but positive things to say about the team.

“I just feel like my style of football just fits in here,” Pittman said. “That smash mouth football and all of that, I feel that’s the way I play football and I’m gonna fit in well here and I’m excited about it, fired up. I’ve talked to coach Mike and everything he has planned, it just sounds great, so, I think I’m fired up of being here.”
Pittman had a decent 2025 season, but nowhere near his best. He played 17 games, catching 80 passes for 784 yards and seven touchdowns. Alec Pierce’s emergence caught many off guard, including Pittman, who took a back seat when Daniel Jones and Philip Rivers went with Pierce as their No. 1 target.

Michael Pittman Jr. opened up on long-term stutter
During his introductory press conference, Pittman stuttered while answering a question about head coach Mike McCarthy. He took the chance to discuss the stutter he’s dealt with since childhood.

“For those of you who don’t know, I stutter a lot,” he said. “It’s not because I’m nervous, it’s just something I’ve done since I was a kid. I’ve actually worked with the NSA, the National Stuttering Association, so there’s my, like plug for them. But your answer to that is Mike McCarthy.”
Pittman arrives in Pittsburgh as a standout locker room presence and a multiple-time 1,000-yard receiver. The Steelers could fly high with Pittman on the roster.
