The Chicago Bears have seen both of their starting safeties hit the open market. Kevin Byard III and Jaquan Brisker both hit free agency this offseason, and both found new teams.
Byard is joining the New England Patriots, while Brisker is headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers. But, those two aren't the only free agent safety the Bears are losing to an AFC team this offseason.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Bears are losing veteran safety Jonathan Owens, the husband of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, to the Indianapolis Colts in free agency.
Bears lose Jonathan Owens, Simone Biles to Colts
"The Colts have agreed to terms with safety and special teamer Jonathan Owens on a one-year deal, per his agent @SunnyTheAgent," Garafolo reports.
Owens, the 5-foot-11, 204-pound safety who's been in the NFL for seven seasons, is leaving Chicago after two seasons with the Bears for the AFC South Colts.
Across two seasons with the Bears, Owens had one interception, two passes defended, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, 68 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and 476 defensive snaps with 504 special teams snaps.

Owens is married to Biles, who has won 11 Olympic medals in her career as an artistic gymnast. She's also won 30 World Championship medals and is one of the best gymnasts of all time.
Back in 2024, Owens was granted time off away from Bears training camp to go to Paris and cheer on Biles in the Olympics.
After two years with the Bears in Chicago, Owens is heading to Indianapolis to join the Colts. The power-couple if leaving Chicago and heading not too far south to Indianapolis, Indiana.
