Adam Wharton is a perfect fit for Liverpool and they have now been given a clear run to sign the Crystal Palace midfielder.
Liverpool made a huge mistake by not signing Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo and they will be making another if they don’t sign Adam Wharton.
The Crystal Palace midfielder continues to impress with the overriding feeling that he could be a generational talent in the right team and under the right manager. For those of a certain age, there is an uncanny resemblance to former Real Madrid and AC Milan playmaker Redondo with the way that he evades pressure and uses the ball. The phrase “Rolls Royce midfielder” was made for players like Wharton.
Liverpool target eyed by Manchester duo
With competition fierce for homegrown talent, Liverpool have been handed a boost for £60m-rated Wharton in that two potential opponents for Wharton’s signature could be distracted in pursuit of another Premier League baller. TalkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs, has confirmed that Elliot Anderson could be heading to one half of Manchester’s big two.
With reports claiming that City could outmuscle United financially Jacobs told The United Stand: “My intel from within the club at the moment is not that Manchester United definitively think they’re going to lose the race for Elliot Anderson or that he’s going to go off to Manchester City or that the player is only going to make a decision based on finances.
“There is an appreciation that Man City will be able to offer more money, but Manchester United are certainly going to be able to improve upon his current Nottingham Forest package as well. So this is one I think is going to run into the late April/Early May period before we get real clarity.”
Fabrizio Romano makes Elliot Anderson transfer claim
This is a sentiment that Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on X writing: “Manchester City will sign a new midfielder for sure… and mantain Elliott Anderson among top targets for summer window. Nothing advanced yet but Anderson is among top 2/3 names on #MCFC list for new midfielder.
“Man United are also interested.” With the Manchester duo fighting over Anderson, Liverpool might have a clear run for Wharton who, potentially, could be a better fit given the midfielders that are already at the club.
