The Dallas Cowboys need to address the cornerback position this offseason, the outside corner spot in particular, after recording the second-fewest interceptions in 2025 and moving on from Trevon Diggs. DaRon Bland underwent his second surgery on his left foot, raising durability concerns, while Shavon Revel Jr. is not guaranteed a starting spot after missing the first ten games of his rookie season to recover from an ACL injury and looking rusty upon returning. Although the Cowboys signed Cobie Durant to a one-year deal, he may not be the long-term answer.

Because of this, the team could select a cornerback with their 12th overall pick.

According to Ryan Fowler, the Cowboys will host former Virginia Tech and LSU lockdown cornerback Mansoor Delane for a 30 visit. NFL teams are allowed to invite up to 30 prospects to their facilities for interviews and medical evaluations, excluding local prospects. Delane is considered the top corner in the 2026 NFL Draft, and he may not be available when Dallas is on the clock.

Mansoor Delane committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies as a three-star recruit for the 2022 season. He enjoyed a strong three-year tenure at Virginia Tech, recording 146 tackles, seven TFLs, six interceptions, 16 pass deflections, and four forced fumbles across 33 games and 29 starts. Delane was named Third-Team All-ACC in 2024 before transferring.
Mansoor Delane transferred to the LSU Tigers in 2025, where he catapulted his draft stock and played through a significant core muscle injury for most of the year. He recorded 45 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 pass deflections across 11 starts while allowing a 40% completion rate, 165 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and an incredible 31.3 passer rating across 35 targets. Delane’s efforts earned him unanimous All-American and First-Team All-SEC honors.
Here’s Lance Zierlein’s scouting report on the top CB
Lance Zierlein

“Delane is one of the top cornerbacks in a CB-rich draft. He excels in press coverage, altering release timing with punches and slides. Smooth hips and efficient footwork keep him connected in man coverage, while his processing allows for quick transitions in off-man and short zone looks.
“He has good top-end speed for vertical phasing but is inconsistent turning to find the football. While he locks in on the route at times, he’s rarely oblivious to the quarterback’s actions, allowing him to slam catch windows shut and play the football.
“He played through a core muscle injury for much of the 2025 season and still performed at an elite level. Delane’s emergence over the past two years might be indicative of what’s to come, as he’s shown lockdown potential.”
Zierlein projects Delane as a Year 1 starter.
