Buffalo Bills announce jersey number updates for 2026 season

It’s that time of year when new Buffalo Bills players choose their jersey numbers, while others switch to a different number. Here’s a look at what the new players will be rocking come September.

While he isn’t technically “new” like the others, backup quarterback Kyle Allen will wear No. 11 after wearing No. 9 during the 2023 season with Buffalo. Newly signed edge rusher, Bradley Chubb will instead wear No. 9, which he wore during his collegiate career at NC State. Nickel/slot cornerback Dee Alford will rock No. 23, most recently worn by cornerback Dane Jackson during the 2025 season.

Additionally, new wideout **[DJ Moore will wear No. 2](https://x.com/BuffaloBills/status/2032472622793883918?s=20)**, a number he has worn since the start of the 2021 season with the Carolina Panthers.

One would assume that Moore paid kicker Tyler Bass a pretty penny for his jersey number, considering the five-year veteran has worn it since he was drafted in 2020. Bass will now wear No. 16, a number that has seen plenty of action from backup players over the past few seasons, including wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., who will now wear No. 1, previously worn by wide receiver Curtis Samuel, who was released this offseason.

Running back Ray Davis switched his number from No. 22 to No. 7 with the departure of nickel cornerback Taron Johnson via trade. Edge rusher Greg Rousseau switched from No. 50 to No. 15, a number he wore during his collegiate career at Miami.
