Washington Commanders Free Agency: Dyami Brown Returns on a 1-Year Deal

The Washington Commanders missed out on some of their wide receiver targets in free agency, but they added one today. Dyami Brown was Washington’s third-round pick in the 2021 draft. His best season came in the final year of his rookie contract. Brown had 30 receptions for 308 yards and a TD. In the playoffs he added another 14 catches for 229 yards and another TD. That performance helped him get a 1-year, $10 million deal in free agency from the Jaguars. He’s now back in Washington on a 1-year deal that’s worth up to $3 million.

The Commanders needed to bring in several wide receivers this offseason. They have Terry McLaurin, Luke McCaffrey, and Jaylin Lane returning, but all of them missed time with injuries last season. Noah Brown also had injury issues in both of his seasons in Washington, and he hasn’t been re-signed. The Commanders have three practice squad receivers, and will need to improve their depth and find another long-term starter. Brown had a good season with Jayden Daniels, and will be looking for a big season with him again.
