The Green Bay Packers knew entering the 2026 NFL offseason that they would be losing quite a few of their free agents. However, the positive side of that is that Brian Gutekunst should recoup quite a few compensatory picks for the 2027 NFL Draft.

Heading into Friday’s business, the Packers had already lost quite a few players from last season.

Among those players were linebacker Quay Walker, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, quarterback Malik Willis, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, cornerback Nate Hobbs, and running back Emanuel Wilson. On Friday, Green Bay added another player to the list.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport of NFL Newtwork, starting offensive tackle Rasheed Walker has agreed to a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers.

“The #Panthers have agreed to terms with OT Rasheed Walker on a one-year deal, per me and @TomPelissero,” Rapoport wrote on X. “With 48 starts in the last three seasons, the former Packers standout Rasheed Walker is considered to be the top tackle in free agency.”

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler also weighed in on the deal that lands Walker with the Panthers.

“This was one of the more interesting markets for a player,” Fowler wrote. “He was clearly the best free agent option at a premium position. But a few teams wondered whether Dan Moore’s deal last year ($82M over four) spooked teams, hurting the market more than it helped.”

The Packers Appear to Have Their 2026 Starting Offensive Line in Place

At this point in time, the Packers seem to feel comfortable with their offensive line depth chart.

If the season started today, the Green Bay offensive line would likely consist of Jordan Morgan at left tackle, Aaron Banks at left guard, Sean Rhyan at center, Anthony Belton at right guard, and Zach Tom at right tackle. On the outside looking in, that line should be solid.

Brian Gutekunst will likely look into the free agency market or the 2026 NFL Draft to add more depth behind the starters.

What Has Green Bay Done in Free Agency Thus Far?

The headline addition for the Packers in free agency has been defensive tackle Javon Hargrave. Green Bay moved quickly to sign Hargrave to a two-year, $23 million deal following his release from the division rival Minnesota Vikings.

A sleeper addition for the Packers was wide receiver and return man Skyy Moore. They believe that he could upgrade their special teams unit.

While not a free agency move, Green Bay also recently agreed to a trade sending pass rusher Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys. In return, the Packers received a 2027 fourth-round pick.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the rest of the NFL offseason has in store for Green Bay. Walker will join an up-and-coming Carolina team who the Packers are scheduled to play at home during the 2026 season.
