Pre-Match Analysis - City face a trip to West Ham

Manchester City go into Saturday's Premier League fixture knowing they can't afford any more slip-ups if they want to be crowned champions in May and, with **Arsenal**facing Everton at The Emirates, City could be ten points off the pace come kick-off at the London Stadium.

City welcomed Nottingham Forest to The Etihad at the start of the month and were held to a 2-2 draw.

Pep Guardiola's side were in the lead twice thanks to goals from Antoine Semenyo and Rodri; however, they were pegged back twice by a resilient Forest, as Morgan Gibbs-White and rumoured City summer transfer target Elliot Anderson saw the tricky trees earn a crucial point in the battle to beat the drop.

Meanwhile, at Craven Cottage, a Crysencio Summerville 65th-minute strike saw the Hammers come away with a 1-0 win against a really solid Fulham outfit, as West Ham look to ease their own relegation worries.

Happy hunting ground for City

City are yet to lose at the London Stadium in the Premier League following West Ham's move from Upton Park in 2016.

City's impressive record of seven wins and two draws, whilst scoring an incredible 28 goals and conceding just 6 at the ground that played an integral of the 2012 London Olympics just highlights how dominant City has been over the Hammers over the past nine seasons.

In fact, The Blues have only lost just once in twelve matches away at West Ham in all competitions, and that came in a fourth round Carabao Cup tie back in October 2021 as the Hammers came out on top in a penalty shootout following a drab 0-0 draw at the London Stadium.

It's been nearly fourteen years since City's last defeat at West Ham in the Premier League, with the Hammers coming away with a 2-1 win at Upton Park, back in October 2014, thanks to goals from Morgan Amalfitano and Diafra Sakho.

City legend David Silva pulled a goal back in the 75th minute, but it was too little too late for Manuel Pellegrini's men.

Will the eight-time Premier League winners continue their incredible run at the London Stadium to keep the pressure on Arsenal at the top, or will West Ham throw a spanner in the works and pull off a rare home victory againstthe Cityzens?.

City face West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday, 14th March with a 20:00pm kick-off in the Premier League, with full match coverage available on TNT Sports and Discovery Plus.
