Warriors fear bigger injury risk with Stephen Curry, per insider

The Golden State Warriors are taking a cautious approach with Stephen Curry as he continues to recover from a runner's knee injury. Anthony Slater of ESPN suggests the Warriors fear that rushing Curry back too soon could lead to a reinjury.

The Golden State Warriors are taking a careful approach with the recovery of star guard Stephen Curry as the team deals with his ongoing knee issue.

According to Anthony Slater of ESPN, the Warriors do not want to risk a setback that could affect Curry long term, especially with bigger plans ahead for the franchise.

"Next season has become the season in this final Steph Era, and I don't think at all [the Warriors] want to jeopardize that, and this is from what I've gathered, an injury that they fear if you do put [Steph] back on the court and he's not quite ready, it could reinjure, reaggravate," he said.

Golden State already confirmed last week that Curry will remain sidelined for another 10 days while dealing with a condition often referred to as runner's knee. The veteran guard has only recently returned to light on court work and is expected to slowly ramp up his activity.

Without Curry running the offense, the Warriors have struggled to maintain momentum in the Western Conference race. Since the superstar guard went down, Golden State has lost 10 of its last 15 games, making the fight for playoff positioning even more difficult.

The Warriors currently sit ninth in the Western Conference with a 32-33 record, keeping them in the Play-In tournament zone as the regular season enters its final stretch.
