Chargers agree to terms with defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson

The Chargers continued to prioritize the trenches Friday, when they agreed to terms with former Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson, a nine-year NFL veteran who also has played with the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.

Tomlinson’s contract is reportedly worth $7.5 million for one season. He had 26 tackles, including one sack, in 17 games this past season for the Cardinals. His career high is 59 tackles in the second of his four seasons with the Giants, who selected him in the second round in 2017.

The Chargers’ first move of the offseason was to give defensive lineman Teair Tart a three-year extension worth up to $37.5 million on Jan. 26. The addition of Tomlinson will give the Chargers depth beyond Tart and Jamaree Caldwell. D-lineman Da’Shawn Hand remains unsigned.

General manager Joe Hortiz also has made several additions to the Chargers’ offensive line, signing ex-Washington Commanders center Tyler Biadasz and former Miami Dolphins guard Cole Strange, plus re-signing tackles Trey Pipkins III and Trevor Penning to contract extensions.
