ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Vederian Lowe says he’s grateful to be a part of the San Francisco 49ers organization and everything happens for a reason.
The Auburn alum agreed to a two-year $12 million contract with the team, which the 49ers made official [Thursday](https://www.49ers.com/news/49ers-sign-ol-vederian-lowe-ol-brett-toth-re-sign-te-jake-tonges). He heads to the 49ers after three seasons with the New England Patriots.
California holds a special place in Lowe’s life. He was in California when he received a scholarship from Illinois. Now he will play his home games at Levi’s Stadium; the same place where he and the Patriots played in Super Bowl 60.
“Just the way everything came about from the years we had previous to that season,” said Lowe. “Ultimately we came up short but getting there is only one piece of it: Winning it is the other piece.”
Lowe tells WIFR this is the right move for him at this point in his NFL career and is grateful to be a part of what San Francisco’s building.
Lowe plans to use the offseason to show the team why they signed him.
“My only thing that I’m worried about is just going there, making a great impression on my teammates and on coaches. Being a guy they can depend on if and when my number’s called,” said Lowe.
Heading into free agency, Lowe said he knew the Patriots could re-sign him but he could also draw interest from other teams.
