Mike Evans Bids Bucs Fans Goodbye
March 14th, 2026
Classy move by former Bucs receiver and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans.
Friday morning, a reader twittered Joe and asked why Evans had not issued a thank-you note to Bucs fans for their strong support since he was drafted by the Bucs in 2013.
Joe thought that was very unusual. Didn’t sound like Evans. Was he that PO’ed at the Bucs?
Joe only needed to wait a few hours.
Evans issued his goodbye through his foundation Friday night. There, he professed deep gratitude for Bucs fans for supporting him along the way and being able to share iconic moments in franchise history with Bucs fans, including winning the Super Bowl at The Licht House.
It seems Evans suggested he will always identify himself as a Bucs player. Texas A&M, too. He noted the Bucs molded him into the future Hall of Fame he became.
“I will always be a Buc at heart,” Evans said. “I will forever be grateful for the unwavering support you gave me and my family. … The bond we built will always mean the world to me.”
Classy move by a classy guy.
