While Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen keeps an eye on all the roster changes happening during free agency, he’s also keeping a close eye on his very pregnant wife, Hailee Steinfeld.
The couple announced that they’re expecting their first child together in December, and her due date is near. Steinfeld is keeping fans updated on her pregnancy journey via her newsletter, Beau Society.
“I’ve gone back and forth on tiny details more than I care to admit (why is choosing a rocking chair this emotional?), but seeing it all slowly come together has made our new life feel more tangible. Emphasis on ‘slowly’ coming together — it’s all still very much a work in progress,” she wrote.
“We’re getting ready to meet someone we already love so much. I’ve racked my brain for words to describe that feeling, and I don’t have them yet. Maybe that’s the point. For now, I’m blessed to be settling into the feeling.”
While the couple prepares for their lives to change forever, Steinfeld shared a personal anecdote about Allen in her latest newsletter.
Hailee Steinfeld Shares Sweet Story About ‘Thoughtful’ Josh Allen
While Steinfeld is not currently eating sushi due to her pregnancy, if it wasn’t for Allen, she wouldn’t eat it ever.
“It took someone who knew me very well to introduce me to sushi in a way that doesn’t turn me off,” she wrote of the 2024 league MVP. “It’s easy for people who love sushi to recommend the extreme. They might say, ‘Just try the uni!’ If that happened to me, I’d never go back.
“But I’m lucky that Josh helped ease me in. He was thoughtful about it. He’s a big sushi lover, but when we ate it together, he started with the approachable options, not with what he had worked his way up to.” Now, the Oscar-nominated star loves sushi, even if she sticks to nigiri.
Amid the fan “Ask Me Anything” issue, someone asked if she’s a sweet or savory girl. “This pregnancy has thrown this answer a little, but I’m a sweets girl through and through,” she answered. “It’s almost impossible for me not to have the tiniest something sweet after a meal.”

While Allen refers to marrying Steinfeld as the most important decision of his life, he calls becoming a father his most important role.
“I’ve got siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends that have kids. I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance,” Allen told reporters in January about how they’re preparing. “I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad. It’s something that I will take with great pride.
“But this is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, being a dad. And I know I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. But I’m looking forward to this one.”
