Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall names the Everton player most likely to become a manager

Several former Everton players have already delved into the world of football management.

Mikel Arteta is currently in charge of Arsenal, while Wayne Rooney has managed a number of clubs since hanging up his boots – he even turned down an approach from Everton in January 2022.

Duncan Ferguson has also tested himself in management.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has now claimed that Seamus Coleman “could be” set to follow in their footsteps as he backs the Irishman to become a manager one day.

Seamus Coleman tipped to become a football manager when he departs Everton

When asked by the Premier League which Everton teammate is most likely to become a manager, the Everton No.22 said: “Seamus Coleman.

“He loves the game he has a lot of good attributes, I think he could be a good manager.”

Coleman sees his contract expire at the end of the season – and does need to start thinking about his next step as he turns 38 in October.

His former partner in crime Leighton Baines has already retired and become part of the coaching staff under Moyes at Everton, so perhaps that could be an option for the Republic of Ireland international if he decides to call it a day this summer.

Coleman feels he still has a lot to offer Everton on the pitch despite his age and niggling injuries, however, so he may well opt to squeeze as much out of his playing career as possible before considering management.

David Moyes wants Seamus Coleman around and his coaching badges have already been done

If Everton decide against tying Coleman down to a new playing contract this summer, the Toffees are still ready to accommodate him in another area – even as a groundsman if he wanted to do that, according to Moyes.

The Glaswegian said earlier this season: “Seamus is too important to this club. The club owes Seamus so much, so we want Seamus to be around us.

“Whether he’s a player or whether he is on the staff or whether he’s a groundsman, we want Seamus Coleman to be around, we certainly do, because he’s too important around this football club.”

The Everton No.23 has already completed his coaching badges across the last six years as well, so he is ready to move into coaching if the Toffees decide he no longer has enough to offer as a player next season.
