Chelsea captain Reece James has committed his long-term future to the club after signing a new contract that ends speculation about a potential move away from Stamford Bridge.
The England international defender, widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in world football when fully fit, has agreed fresh terms with CHELSEA in a deal that reinforces the club’s plans to build around one of their most influential academy graduates.
James, 26, has been linked with several top European clubs in recent months as questions were raised about his future following a series of injury setbacks. ‘The club is on the right path to winning trophies consistently again and I believe we will do that. That’s why I’m still here and I re-signed.
‘This club is my home, it’s the place I love and I want to be. Money’s not the be all and end all. Happiness and where I want to be means more to me and I want to win here, and we will win here.’
Despite facing challenges with injuries in recent seasons, James remains one of the most talented full-backs in the Premier League. His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively makes him a crucial asset for Chelsea, with his powerful runs, precise crossing and defensive awareness setting him apart.
The new deal also provides stability for CHELSEA as they continue to reshape the squad and compete for major honours domestically and in Europe. Keeping their captain at the club sends a strong message about their ambitions and commitment to retaining top talent.
