In an interview that will delight Chelsea fans, Moises Caicedo has lifted the lid on the scary talent of Joao Pedro, describing the striker as a complete package.
Moises Caicedo has had a bit of a quiet season by his standards. Despite perhaps not making the headlines like he usually would, the midfielder has still rarely put a foot wrong.
Even though Declan Rice is supposedly having this Ballon d’Or season, Moises Caicedo leads interceptions in the Premier League and the Arsenal man doesn’t even feature.
However, he’s taken his time out to praise one of his Chelsea teammates instead, who he believes is so much better than people think at Stamford Bridge.

Moises Caicedo says Joao Pedro is Chelsea’s most underrated player
Speaking to Chelsea ahead of the Newcastle United clash, Moises Caicedo was asked for his most underrated player and immediately hailed his teammate Joao Pedro.
“Joao Pedro.”
“People don’t know how good he is. So for me is one of the best, not just in the Premier League, in the world because his movements, how he plays, how he scores goals, he has everything for me as a striker.”
The Brazilian has scored 18 and assisted nine in all competitions for the Blues, putting Pedro on course to better Diego Costa’s seasons at Chelsea.

Moises Caicedo’s praise shows just how good Joao Pedro is
Moises Caicedo’s high praise for Joao Pedro isn’t just teammate bias, it’s a reflection of a striker who has transformed Chelsea under Liam Rosenior. By labeling Pedro one of the best in the world, it’s clear how much of an impact he’s left on his teammates.
The numbers in 2026 back up Caicedo’s bold verdict: Pedro currently boasts a shot-conversion rate of 24.6%, outperforming both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe this calendar year.
For a squad often criticised for being too young or raw, Caicedo’s comments show that in Joao Pedro, Chelsea finally possesses a finished product, a striker has everything.
