Commanders sign Chris Paul to free agent contract, amusing NBA fans

The Washington Commanders have signed Chris Paul to a free agent contract.

And would you blame the NBA future Hall of Fame point guard if that's who we were talking about right now after his weird season? That's not this Chris Paul, though.

This is the NFL's offensive lineman by the same name, with the signing reported Friday by The Athletic's Tashan Reed.

Who is the NFL's Chris Paul?

The NFL's Chris Paul is a 27-year-old offensive guard.

He measures up at 6-foot-4 and 324 pounds, much bigger than the point guard.

Paul is the grandson of former Nigerian president Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, a cool family heritage.

He was a seventh-round pick by the Washington Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Tulsa and has done well for himself, playing in 34 games since then, including 23 starts.

Now, he's back with the Commanders on a new deal.

This Chris Paul is also a musical artist, having released R&B music under his stage name, The Seventh.

Is Chris Paul related to Chris Paul?

No, the NFL's Chris Paul is not related to the NBA's Chris Paul.

But they share the same name, which has at least a bit of that two-Spidermans meme to it.
