Arsenal are very keen on signing Bologna striker Santiago Castro, according to reports in the Brazilian media.

The Gunners were linked with the Argentinian a couple of years ago but RTI Esporte claim the interest “has become real”.
It is believed that Mikel Arteta’s side have been keeping tabs on Castro since last season, but his recent performances for Bologna have led them to seriously consider making an offer.
The 21-year-old has 7 goals in 18 league starts, having also scored 2 goals in the Coppa Italia and another in the Europa League this campaign.
Why are Arsenal looking to sign another forward?
Gabriel Jesus will soon reach the final twelve months of his contract, and while the Brazilian is said to be keen on staying at the Emirates, it is unlikely that he will be handed an extension, so a parting of ways this summer is expected. Get a stadium tour with Virgin Experience Days here.
There are also doubts about the future of Kai Havertz. The German international has struggled with injuries over the last 18 months, and the Gunners will soon have a decision to make over whether to hand him a new deal as well.
How much would Castro cost?
RTI Esporte claim that Bologna are demanding around €40m (£35m) for the striker, which is a figure which has already put off Flamengo, who were also targeting the player.
It should be pointed out that Castro has also been watched by Chelsea in recent months, with the Blues said to be looking at long-term replacements for Nicolas Jackson.
For now, it appears Arsenal are the likeliest to make an approach at the end of the season, but any offer may still hinge on a suitor being found for either Jesus or Havertz.
