Journalist Christian Falk has reported that Chelsea have no chance of signing Aleksandar Pavlovic this summer. He said that the German midfielder will stay with Bayern Munich and is happy at the club as well.
The Blues have been highly active in the transfer market in recent years, signing many young players. They have recently been linked with a potential summer move for Pavlovic, despite having the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez. However, Pavlovic is expected to stay with Bayern Munich.
“It is NOT TRUE that Chelsea are set to approach Bayern over Aleksandar Pavlović. He’s feeling very well at Bayern Munich. It’s worth pointing out that Pavlović’s agent is Dieter Hoeneß, a former Bayern player and the younger brother of Uli Hoeneß (and I think everyone knows who this is! He’s the godfather at Bayern Munich). So, if there were any hint of interest in Pavlović, he would be the first to hear it and would say no."
“Don’t forget that the midfielder has been a Bayern player since he was in the academy. Aleksandar Pavlović recently told the media that his dream would be to play out his whole career at Bayern Munich. Not exactly a come-and-get-me plea to the Premier League!” he added.
Pavlovic, 21, joined Bayern's academy from SC Fürstenfeldbruck in 2011. He has made 88 senior appearances for the German giants and also recorded six goals and four assists.
Max Eberl backs Chelsea target to become Bayern Munich legend
Amidst Aleksandar Pavlovic's links to Chelsea, Bayern director of sport, Max Eberl, has backed him to become a club legend. He likened the midfielder to Thomas Müller, who spent 25 years with the German giants before joining Vancouver Whitecaps last summer.
Eberl said (h/t One Football):
“He has what it takes to become a ‘Müller 2.0. He was never considered the top talent. He really worked extremely hard for all of this. He earned his chance from Thomas Tuchel back then, then fought his way in and is on a very, very good path."
“He is 21, but what the boy does – how he pushes forward, how he learns from players like Leon [Goretzka] and others, and how he follows his own path,” he added.
Muller made 756 appearances for Bayern, contributing 250 goals and 276 assists. Meanwhile, Pavlovic's current contract runs until 2029, and Chelsea would have to pay a hefty fee if they are to sign him this summer.
