Bradley Chubb offered some high praise of Josh Allen after signing with the Bills in free agency
The Buffalo Bills are loading up in an attempt to go on a Super Bowl run in 2026. After completely revamping their coaching staff, the Bills have gotten to work on adding some serious talent to their roster. So far, one of their biggest moves saw them sign former Miami Dolphins pass rusher Bradley Chubb in free agency.
For years, Buffalo has been in search of a game-wrecker along the defensive line who can consistently get to the quarterback. That will be Chubb’s job with his new team, and when speaking on his decision to sign with the Bills, it sounds like having a chance to team up with superstar quarterback Josh Allen played a big role in his decision-making process.
Bradley Chubb Gushes Over Josh Allen
Chubb and Allen have long been familiar with each other, as they both entered the league as highly-touted prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft. Chubb got selected with the No. 5 overall pick by the Denver Broncos, while Allen was taken two picks later by the Bills with the No. 7 overall selection. Since then, though, things have gone differently for these two.
While Allen has turned himself into a yearly MVP candidate, Chubb has struggled to find the same sort of consistency. Injuries certainly haven’t helped, as he’s missed at least 10 games in three of his first eight seasons in the NFL, and that includes the 2024 campaign, which he missed entirely due to a torn ACL.
In 2025, Chubb made his return, and he managed to suit up in all 17 games for Miami, racking up 47 tackles and 8.5 sacks during his time on the field. After failing to acquire Chubb at the trade deadline this past season, the Bills looped back around to the talented pass rusher and handed him a three-year, $43.5 million contract in free agency. Now, Chubb is ready to get to work, and it sounds like he’s excited to join forces with Allen.
“(Allen), he’s been doing it since 2018,” Chubb said of his new quarterback. “He is one of the best, if not the best, quarterbacks in the league, and whenever you have a guy like that manning the ship, I feel like everybody believes that they can win … When you got a guy like that, everybody buys in. Everybody knows, no matter what he’s going through, he’s gonna give it all and put it on the line for the team, and you can win like that.”

It’s not a stretch to say that the key for Chubb moving forward is simply staying healthy. When he’s been on the field, he’s earned a pair of Pro Bowl selections and a third-place finish in the 2018 Defensive Rookie of the Year race. He proved last season that he is still a top-tier pass rusher when he’s on the field, and playing for a competitive Bills squad should only help him out in the future.
Buffalo has had the answer at quarterback with Allen for years, but the rest of the roster around him has often come up short in the playoffs. Getting the most out of Chubb could be crucial in the Bills’ quest to go on a Super Bowl run, and if he can put together a double-digit sack campaign, that could make a world of difference for their defense.
