It’s a tough team to predict as Chelsea take on Newcastle this afternoon – there are questions from front to back.

Rosenior to restore goalkeeper and bring back midfield favourite

Usually the goalkeeper position in a predicted lineup is the easy part – well not anymore. In this team, it’s maybe the hardest to predict. Liam Rosenior’s decision to drop Robert Sanchez for Filip Jorgensen massively backfired, and now he faced a huge question over who to play today.

We think Rosenior will swallow his pride and play Sanchez.

The back line should see Malo Gusto at right back again, with Reece James taking a break. Trevoh Chalobah will play centrally, and could be accompanied by Mamadou Sarr as Wesley Fofana is given a break. Marc Cucurella should be fit to start on the left.

In midfield, James’ absence should mean Andrey Santos alongside Moises Caicedo. Ahead of them, Enzo Fernandez can play centrally, with Alejandro Garnacho in for the suspended Pedro Neto. With none of the other attackers really fit to start, Cole Palmer seems likely to play again, with Joao Pedro leading the line.

In other news…

Cole Palmer has been speaking about his manager this week, and named the thing he really enjoyed about Rosenior’s style.

Rosenior has hinted that there could be a change in Chelsea transfer policy to come after this week’s setbacks.
