The Milwaukee Bucks are on the road to face the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, March 14, and they have a notable injury concern.

Heading into the matchup, the Bucks downgraded the star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to questionable.

Throughout the year, Antetokounmpo has dealt with calf-related issues, but that’s not the case right now. According to the Bucks’ injury report, Antetokounmpo is battling a left ankle sprain.

In the hours leading up to the game’s tip-off, the Bucks made the final call on Antetokounmpo’s status for the matchup against the Hawks. He was ultimately ruled out for the night.

Lineup alert: Bucks will start Porter Jr., Rollins, Kuzma, Sims, Turner on Saturday.

The Bucks have had to play without Antetokounmpo many times this year.

At the start of the 2025-2026 NBA season, the veteran forward was thriving and putting together a preview of a potential MVP campaign early on. By late November and eventually early December, Antetokounmpo started consistently missing games.

Although he played 13 games in a row after returning from a stretch of absences on December 27, Antetokounmpo was out one month later. He missed over one month of action, returning to the court for the Bucks’ March 2 game against the Boston Celtics.

Since then, Antetokounmpo has missed just one game. Unfortunately, he comes off the court again for the Hawks game.

Along with Giannis, the Bucks have ruled out Ousmane Dieng, Cormac Ryan, and Alex Antetokounmpo. Kevin Porter Jr. is listed on the injury report, but the Bucks have cleared him to play for the matchup.

On the other side, the Atlanta Hawks have ruled out Asa Newell, Keshon Gilbert, and Jonathan Kuminga. RayJ Dennis, who is listed on the report, has been cleared to play.

The 2025-2026 NBA season has not been a favorable year for the Bucks. Along with the Giannis injury concerns came the Giannis trade saga. For months, countless rumors have suggested that Giannis could be on the move before the 2026 trade deadline kicks in.

Despite all of the rumors, the Bucks kept the former MVP on the roster. While the trade discussion hasn’t evaporated, as Giannis is expected to be talked about in a similar light during the offseason, the Bucks can at least be at ease knowing the roster won’t see major changes outside of injuries for the remainder of the year.

With a 27-38 record, the Bucks are sitting 11th in the Eastern Conference. They are just 3-7 over their last 10 games, and have lost three in a row at this point.

The Bucks and the Hawks are slated for a 3 PM ET tip.
