With all three of GoldenState’s top big men, Horford, Porzingis, and Post, listed on the injury report, the team recently added another center in hopes of finding at least some rim-protection and rebounding while the rest of the seven-footers are out.
According to Shams Charania, the Warriors have signed Omer Yurtseven to a ten-day contract.
“The Golden State Warriors are signing former Heat and Jazz center Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract, agents Keith Glass and Luke Glass tell ESPN,”the insider wrote. “Yurtseven spent the season in the Euroleague before joining the G League last week, posting 36 points and 12 rebounds Friday night.”
Yurtseven has averaged five points, 4.6 rebounds, and 0.7 assists on 53.5% shooting in 113 career NBA games from 2021 to 2024.
“Warriors add an extra center the night after Al Horford leaves with a calf issue. Steve Kerr called it a strain and indicated likelihood Horford misses time,”Slater added.

Back to Horford, Kerr confirmed after the Timberwolves game that Horfordis set to miss a decent amount of time. While a direct return timeline is still unknown, the 39-year-old has already dealt with a few health concerns this season andwas already set to not play in back-to-back games for the rest of his career.
As of Saturday, March 14, the Warriors are 32-34 and have gone 3-7 in their last ten games. While the Curry knee injury was previously the biggest concern for the team, now just fielding a complete roster will be a challenge for the franchise over the next few days.
Amid the losses and injury concerns, Golden State feels destined for another Play-In Tournament appearance this season.
