Max Dowman became the youngest scorer in Premier League history as his sensational breakaway goal clinched a 2-0 win over Everton to send Arsenal 10 points clear.
With Jordan Pickford caught upfield for an Everton corner after Viktor Gyokeres had made the 89th-minute breakthrough in an incredible finale, Dowman, aged 16 years and 73 days old, charged forward on the break and rolled into an empty net.
The goal sparked delirious celebrations inside the Emirates Stadium and came after Dowman, who changed the game after his 74th-minute introduction, had delivered the cross which was missed by Pickford for Gyokeres's close-range opener.
Everton had defended doggedly up until then, despite missing first-choice centre-backs James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, and also struck the post through Dwight McNeil in the first half.
But Dowman's introduction for Martin Zubimendi gave Arsenal fresh impetus and his historic goal capped a momentous victory for Arsenal ahead of Manchester City's game against West Ham at the London Stadium.
