During the introductory media availability. Quincy Williams cracked a hilarious line about life behind the Cleveland Browns’ defensive front. Speaking to reporters about playing behind stars like Myles Garrett. The veteran linebacker joked that he might need to invest heavily in team dinners to keep his big men motivated.
The comment quickly circulated online after Cleveland.com reporter Camryn Justice shared it on social media the same day.
“I’m gonna be spending a lot of money on dinner cause I gotta make sure them boys fed to keep them linemen up off me.”

The 29-year-old Browns linebacker later doubled down on the idea during the same media session. He explains exactly why those meals might be worth every dollar.
The message was simple and brutally honest. Clean lanes mean tackles, splash plays, and maybe even another Pro Bowl campaign.
The Browns didn’t sign Williams for punchlines. They signed him because the production is real.
The former New York Jets linebacker has been one of the most reliable tacklers in football over the last several seasons. Across five campaigns with the Jets, Williams started 73 of 78 games while compiling 554 tackles, 58 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits, and 12.5 sacks. From 2021 through 2024, the veteran recorded four consecutive 100-tackle seasons.
His peak came in 2023, when the Murray State product earned first-team All-Pro honours and delivered a career-best 139 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss.
Last season wasn’t quite as dominant statistically. The Browns clearly believe the explosive linebacker remains one of the league’s most disruptive second-level defenders.
If the defensive line does its job and keeps blockers away from him. The Cleveland Browns linebacker could quickly build up his stats. Williams might have to spend a little more on steak dinners. That might be the best thing a linebacker can do with their money in Cleveland.
