Boston Celtics Make Roster Move Before Wizards Game

On Saturday evening, the Boston Celtics will host the Washington Wizards.

The Celtics most recently lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 104-102.

Before Saturday’s game, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the Celtics are signing a new player.

Scotto wrote: “The Boston Celtics plan to sign Charles Bassey to a 10-day deal, league sources told @hoopshype. Bassey has averaged 4.3 points on 63% shooting from the field and 4.3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes during five combined NBA seasons with the Spurs, Grizzlies, and 76ers.”

Bassey has appeared in three games this season for the Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies.

He is averaging 3.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.4% from the field.

Bassey was the 53rd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Western Kentucky.

He has also spent time with the San Antonio Spurs over part of five seasons.

His career averages are 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 62.6% from the field in 116 games.
