Everton are monitoring Liam Delap ahead of a potential summer swoop for the Chelsea striker.
David Moyes lost out on the 23-year-old back in June as Chelsea agreed a £30m deal with Ipswich for the Englishman, who is the son of former Stoke City star and throw-in specialist Rory Delap.
However, life has not been simple for Delap at Stamford Bridge, who can only boast one goal in 21 Premier League appearances for the west Londoners so far – nine of which have come as starts.
Now, Everton may have an even better chance of signing the Chelsea No.9 this summer as Liam Rosenior directly tells the Manchester City academy graduate that he has been replaced by Joao Pedro.

Liam Rosenior tells Everton target Liam Delap “no disrespect” after confirming Joao Pedro as the main man
During an interview with Sky Sports, the Chelsea boss said: “Now, if you say, who’s our number nine at the moment, no disrespect to Liam Delap, Joao Pedro’s form makes him the number nine.”
The Brazilian has netted 14 goals and assisted another eight in 29 Premier League appearances so far this season, so you can understand that stance.

Beto might be departing Everton this summer as well despite his recent run of starts, which would only increase the need for The Friedkin Group to find a new striker for Moyes.
David Moyes has already charmed Liam Delap
Moyes actually met Delap when trying to sign the forward from Ipswich last summer, with respected journalist Simon Phillips claiming that the chat went well.

So, the fact he has already held positive talks with Moyes might make a summer move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium an easy decision for Delap – if his situation at Chelsea fails to change.
