West Ham dent Man City's title hopes as ex-Arsenal star does Gunners huge favour

MAN CITY 1-1 WEST HAM: Pep Guardiola's men lost further ground on Arsenal after ex-Gunners defender Konstantinos Mavropanos did his former club a favour in the title race

Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by resurgent West Ham in a game with huge ramifications at both ends of the Premier League table. Konstantinos Mavropanos equalised for the Irons in the first half shortly after Bernardo Silva had given City the lead.

Not only did Mavropanos' header give West Ham a vital point to move them out of the relegation zone, it did his former club, Arsenal, a massive favour in the title race. Arsenal, who dramatically beat Everton 2-0 earlier on Saturday, are now nine points clear of City after Pep Guardiola's side slipped up for the second league game running.

While Arsenal will be celebrating West Ham's result, Nottingham Forest certainly won't be. Nuno Espirito Santo's old employers dropped into the bottom three as a result of the draw at the London Stadium.
