German media write off Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson after Bayern Munich red card

Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson’s hopes of any kind of revival at Bayern Munich have been put to bed after being given his marching orders against Bayer Leverkusen.

Nicolas Jackson has had a troubling time of things over in Germany from a mixture of inconsistencies, a lack of minutes and injuries.

The striker has scored two goals and assisted twice in his last three appearances, but as is typical of his time at Bayern Munich, it’s suddenly gone downhill.

Chelsea have a discipline issue of their own with the most red cards in the Premier League this season, and it looks as if Jackson fits right in with that.

The pressure is building on Liam Rosenior 😬

Nicolas Jackson slammed after his red card for Bayern Munich

Nicolas Jackson was sent off for a brutal challenge on Martin Terrier, with his ankle almost folding under the pressure.

German outlet RAN did a whole piece on Nicolas Jackson ruining any chance he had of making his move to Bayern Munich permanent after the red card.

Stating that after this performance, even a much cheaper signing seems hardly conceivable.

In their player ratings, they were just as brutal.

‘The Senegalese is once again preferred to Harry Kane, who is not yet fully fit. Nicolas Jackson, however, does not succeed much in Leverkusen, he rather attracts attention with technical errors and also misses the best chance so far in the 24th minute. To make matters worse, Jackson receives a straight red card shortly before the break for a brutal kick against Terrier after a VAR check. Ran-Rating: 5‘

Meanwhile, Sky pundit Patrick Helmes said this at half-time. “I don’t think Jackson himself has an answer as to why he’s doing this. That’s a very clear red card. Mega unnecessary”.

Nicolas Jackson’s disciplinary issues

Nicolas Jackson’s disciplinary record is a chaotic timeline of blood rushes that have consistently undermined his technical progress. His first season at Chelsea set the tone; despite scoring 14 goals, he accumulated 12 yellow cards, often for dissent or petulant outbursts.

In 2025, he was sent off for an elbow on Sven Botman against Newcastle, only to repeat the folly just weeks later at the Club World Cup. In a humiliating 3-1 loss to Flamengo, Jackson was sent off for a crude lunge on Ayrton Lucas just four minutes after coming on as a substitute, earning a two-game FIFA ban.

And then today, Jackson saw a straight red card for a horrific, studs-up challenge on Bayer Leverkusen’s Martin Terrier.
