Liverpool have the chance to bring in some new faces this summer when the transfer window opens for business

Liverpool are ‘closely monitoring’ Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall, according to CaughtOffside. The Reds are being linked with a swoop for the defender this summer. The likes of Arsenal and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in the report, along with RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.

Arne Slot’s side are back in Premier League action on Sunday afternoon. They face a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. Their upcoming opponents are deep in a relegation battle under Igor Tudor.

Liverpool linked with Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall

Liverpool could see Hall as someone to boost their defensive department. If he joined, that could pave the way for Andy Robertson to head out the exit door. His contract at Newcastle expires in 2029 so they are under no immediate pressure to sell him.

Hall, 21, signed for the Toon Army back in 2023 on an initial loan deal that was later made permanent. He has since become a key player for the North East outfit. They won’t want to lose him anytime soon, especially to a team in the same league.

The England international, who has two caps to his name, has made 94 appearances for the Magpies in all competitions to date, 38 of which have come this season, and he has chipped in with three goals from the back. He rose up through the academy at Chelsea and was a regular at various different youth levels for them as a youngster. The full-back then went on to play 12 times for their senior team before heading out the exit door.

After being snapped up by Newcastle, Hall said at the time: "I am extremely proud to be able to build on last season and continue my journey at Newcastle United. When you pull on the black and white shirt, there is no feeling like it and playing in front of the best supporters in the country is extra special for me, being a Toon fan.

"I gained a lot of experience last season, and with the squad we have, we'll be looking to push on even further this season. I can't wait to get started."
