Tino Livramento hailed Lewis Hall for his performance as Newcastle United beat Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday night.
While many clubs around the world would envy Chelsea’s options at full-back, that cannot really be said about Newcastle United.

Indeed, Livramento and Hall are both graduates of the famed Chelsea academy but have really made their names since joining the Magpies in 2023.
They proved excellent at Stamford Bridge as Newcastle beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday and Livramento was full of praise for Hall.
Livramento says Hall was “so good” for Newcastle vs Chelsea
After the game, Hall posted some images on Instagram and captioned them: “+3 in the capital.”
Livramento responded with: “So good.”
Only a few days after Hall kept Lamine Yamal in his pocket – from open play at least – he did the same to Cole Palmer.

It took the 21-year-old a while to build back up to his very best following an injury-hit start to the campaign but there can be little doubt that he’s now operating at a supreme level.
Marc Cucurella is, of course, a brilliant defender. Still, is he so much better than Hall that it was worth cashing in on an academy graduate?
That is up for debate. Either way, Chelsea’s loss is very much Newcastle’s gain.

Lewis Hall’s stats vs Chelsea
Hall is arguably one of the best defenders in the world right now, and his outing in south west London was further proof of that.
The England international almost always passes the eye test for supporters watching on, but a deep dive into his statistics underlined just what a good performance it was.
As per FotMob data, the defender made one tackle, three clearances, two headed clearances and an interception, as well as seven recoveries.
Impressively, he wasn’t dribbled past once – while Hall made 14 passes into the final third and found the mark with two of his four crosses.
Frankly, it’s of little surprise that games against Barca and Chelsea now look like light work for Hall, which is quite the statement in itself…
