The pressure has never been as heavy as it is right now on Liam Rosenior’s shoulders after successive defeats to PSG and Newcastle, and Craig Burley is not impressed.
Going into the week, the optimism was high after reigniting their hopes of a Champions League place thanks to a 4-1 win over Aston Villa and then reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup against Port Vale.
But that has all come crashing down. Chelsea are likely to be back in sixth when the weekend is done after losing to Newcastle. It comes after their hopes of a Champions League quarter-final are all but over.
The pressure is building on Liam Rosenior 😬
Where does he go from here?

A fifth defeat in 17 games under Rosenior came on Saturday as Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game. Former Chelsea star Craig Burley has hammered Rosenior’s part in the mess that was Saturday.
Craig Burley says he predicted Liam Rosenior to struggle early on
Burley went on a rant about Rosenior after he was told on ESPN FC that Rosenior would be reporting referee Paul Tierney to the PGMOL for his decision to stand in the middle of Chelsea’s pre-match huddle.
The pundit actually claims he said on the first day of Rosenior’s spell in charge, that he felt the Chelsea manager thought he was “brainier” than every other manager in the Premier League and it’s backfiring.

“Is he reporting the referee to PGMOL for this? He needs to go and worry about his team’s performance, five goals in Paris, the backline, Liverpool winning. What’s this huddle around the centre unity nonsense?
“The day he got the job, after his very first interview, I said, he thinks he’s brainier than everyone else, he thinks he knows more than everyone else, he thinks he’s more clever, and he’s overthinking everything.”
Chelsea’s need for a centre-back is clearer than ever
Reports have emerged over the last couple of months that this summer, Chelsea will alter their approach in the transfer market. BlueCo understands the need to sign a few players that boast some experience.
What is he talking about? 😵💫

It is crucial at centre-back. Newcastle’s goal might come because Rosenior says Chelsea got the press wrong, but Wesley Fofana proved to be at fault again. Jamie Redknapp was left stunned by the defender.
Chelsea desperately need a leader in the defence. A player with the aura of Antonio Rudiger or Thiago Silva had when at Stamford Bridge. If Chelsea are going to do anything, they must strengthen defensively.
