The New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and New England Patriots are showing interest in an athletic freak defensive tackle, which may result in those four teams jockeying for position in the 2026 NFL draft.
According to Essentially Sports' Tony Pauline, all four teams attended the pro day of the Oklahoma Sooners and showed interest in defensive tackle Gracen Halton, who turned heads at the combine with a 4.82 40-yard dash time.
Pauline adds that Halton ripped off 25 reps on the bench press before tweaking his hamstring, but the Sooners star did more than enough to help his stock beforehand.
Here's the full report from Pauline on Halton and the teams interested in him:
Defensive tackle Gracen Halton completed 25 reps on the bench press, then tweaked a hamstring and was sidelined the rest of the day. Not a big deal, as Halton laid down the third-fastest 40 time at the combine at 4.82 seconds while also recording a 10-yard split of 1.70 seconds. His vertical jump of 36.5 inches bested the next defensive lineman by 2.5 inches and was an incredible mark for a 293-pound lineman.
Halton met with both New York teams, the Jets and Giants, who are showing him a lot of love. He also had one-on-ones with the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, and Minnesota Vikings.
After an impressive combine and pro day, Halton's stock continues to surge as he displays top-notch athleticism and strength, which could lead to him coming off the board early on Day 2.
That's a major problem for the Denver Broncos, Vikings and Patriots, all of whom have their second-round pick in the back half of the round.
The Jets, Giants and Tennessee Titans all pick in the top five on Day 2, and Gang Green has a pair of second-round picks before the Vikings, Patriots and Broncos are on the clock.
That means Minnesota, Denver and New England might have to be extremely aggressive to land the Oklahoma product in Round 2.
