West Ham Utd 1-1 Manchester City

by Staff Writer

Sunday, 15th March 2026

West Ham are out of the relegation zone for the first time in 2026 after securing a valuable point against title-chasers Manchester City at the LOS.

Konstantinos Mavropanos' first goal of the season cancelled out Bernardo Silva's freak opener to secure a share of the spoils for Nuno Espirito Santo's side and lift them above Nottingham Forest in the Premier League table for the first time since December.

And as a result, most bookies now have West Ham as favourites to remain in the Premier League - with Tottenham now considered the most likely to drop with Wolves and Burnley.

While West Ham spent much of the game under the cosh - United's only effort on target was Mavropanos' goal, while the visitors engineered six (of their 24) efforts on target - Mads Hermansen was rarely called upon and his only notable saves of the game were a Haaland effort he sent wide of the post and a shot he tipped onto the crossbar.

And while the point was an unexpected boost for West Ham's battle against relegation, the draw left the visitors nine behind league leaders Arsenal.
