Jayson Tatum Talks Growing Confidence Following Fourth Game Back

Jayson Tatum played a season-high 32 minutes in Saturday's win over the Washington Wizards, and following the game, the Boston Celtics star talked about his growing calmness and confidence on the court, now just four games into his 2025-26 campaign.

“I feel a lot more relaxed,” Tatum said after dropping 20 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists against the Wiz.

“It's just more and more moments each game where…maybe it's not like a big play people would notice, but something that gave me confidence.”

Tatum's past 10 months have been wholly shaped by his recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered in last year's playoffs. He made his season debut on March 6, against the Dallas Mavericks, contributing 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists in a win, nearly recording a triple-double in limited minutes.

Since returning, JT is averaging 19.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per contest.

Shooting 39.3% from the field and 29% from three so far, Tatum continues to build rhythm and impact games in multiple ways for the Celtics, who remain second in the East with a 44-23 record and the playoffs looming.
