When the Buffalo Bills originally selected wide receiver Keon Coleman with the No. 33 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, there was hope that he would develop to be Josh Allen’s No. 1 target.

Throughout his first two seasons with the team, that development has not been seen. In fact, there is still a strong chance that the Bills could consider trading him this offseason.

Last year, Buffalo made Coleman a healthy scratch in multiple games. Those decisions were made due to Coleman showing up late to team meetings and seemingly not taking his career seriously. After the season, there were some harsh comments made about the young wideout.

In a press conference after the season came to an end, team owner Terry Pegula made some bizarre comments about Coleman.

“I’ll address the Keon situation. The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon,” Pegula said. “I’m not saying Brandon wouldn’t have drafted him, but [Coleman] wasn’t his next choice.”

“That was Brandon being a team player and taking advice of his coaching staff who felt strongly about the player. And you know, he’s taken — for some reason — heat over it, and not saying a word about it. But I’m here to tell you the true story.”

What Has Keon Coleman Accomplished in Two Years with the Bills?

Throughout his first two NFL seasons, Coleman has played in 26 games. He has shown flashes of the potential that made him a high second-round pick, catching 67 total passes for 960 yards and eight touchdowns.

Coleman has the talent to be a productive wide receiver. Should the Bills place him on the trade block, there would likely be a good number of teams with interest in him.

Standing in at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Coleman has flashed big-play ability. He has great size to go along with good speed and athleticism. Now, the question becomes, which teams could make sense as potential trade destinations for him?

Which Teams Could Consider Trading for Keon Coleman?

One potential suitor would be the Indianapolis Colts. After trading Michael Pittman Jr. to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, they could use another target for Daniel Jones. He would slide in nicely alongside of Alec Pierce and Josh Downs.

Another team to watch would be the Washington Commanders. While they have signed Dyami Brown and Van Jefferson this offseason, the franchise wanted to make a bigger move to support Jayden Daniels. Bringing in Coleman would make a lot of sense.

The Cleveland Browns also need wide receiver help. Coleman may not be at the top of their wishlist, but he would have to be a consideration if he hits the market.

Finally, the Chicago Bears could be a team to watch. They traded D.J. Moore to the Bills earlier this offseason. Replacing him by acquiring Coleman would give Caleb Williams another target to work with.

Expect to hear more rumors about Coleman as the offseason moves forward. Buffalo could choose to bring him back for one more season, but a trade is still a possible option.
