Denver Broncos Urged to Target Pro Bowl Tight End

The Denver Broncos managed to have a top-15 offense (14th in scoring) and a top-three defense in 2025. Their success on both sides of the ball is a big reason why Sean Payton’s team went 14-3 and made a trip to the AFC Conference Championship.

Yet, it clearly wasn’t enough to reach their ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl. The Broncos have headed back to the drawing board this offseason, but Denver’s general manager, George Paton, has yet to add anyone to the roster.

The Broncos will inevitably target a few roster upgrades here and there. They could simply be patiently waiting while teams overpay for their top targets. Eventually, the asking prices will come down.

Recently, The Athletic‘s Broncos insider Nick Kosmider linked Denver to a trio of pass-catchers. One, Dallas Goedert, has already re-signed with the Eagles, but the other two remain available.

“Among the names that could be interesting for the Broncos are tight ends Dallas Goedert and David Njoku and wide receiver Jauan Jennings.”

Both players are free agents, yet the Broncos could certainly use another playmaking pass-catcher, whether it’s a tight end like Njoku or a receiver like Jennings. Njoku, 29, is a former Pro Bowler. Jennings, 28, is coming off a respectable season where he recorded 55 receptions for 647 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns.

Yet, Jennings recorded a career-high 975 yards in 2024, so there’s more meat on the bone if he can find the right opportunity. If he wants to get back to the 900-yard range, he may have to find a better opportunity elsewhere, but that may not exist after a down season.

Either way, it’s only a matter of time before Njoku and Jennings find their next team. It may even come with the Broncos.
