During the NFL season, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has his wife and No. 1 fan, Hailee Steinfeld, cheering him on. During awards season, it’s Allen’s turn to support Steinfeld.
Steinfeld returned to the big screen last year in the horror movie “Sinners.” The film not only became a major box office hit, but also an awards season favorite.
The 29-year-old actress, who’s pregnant with the couple’s first child, debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in January. Allen could not accompany his wife to the ceremony as he led Buffalo to a 27-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card playoff game that same Sunday.
“Sinners” racked up seven Golden Globe nominations, and Steinfeld joined her fellow cast members on stage after they won Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. “Sinners” also had a huge night at the Actor Awards, taking home the marquee prize, Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Steinfeld, along with Michael B. Jordan, who won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Omar Miller, and Buddy Guy, were part of the award-winning ensemble. However, Steinfeld was noticeably absent from the ceremony.
The movie also racked 16 Oscar nominations, the most for a single film in the history of the Academy Awards. The previous record was held by “All About Eve,” “Titanic,” and “La La Land, all of which earned 14 nominations. While Steinfeld’s due date is near, fans hope to see Allen and the “Dangerous” singer at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on March 15 for the 98th annual Academy Awards.

Steinfeld, an Oscar-nominated actress from her role in “True Grit” in 2011, has attended the “biggest night in Hollywood” numerous times. However, she’s never attended with Allen by her side. Following the massive success of “Sinners” at the Actor Awards, the movie is considered a frontrunner to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
However, with Steinfeld sitting out the Actor Awards, it’s unclear if she’ll attend the Oscars with her due date imminent.
Steinfeld and the 2024 league MVP are keeping things pretty low-key as they prepare for the baby’s arrival. In her newsletter, Beau Society, she shared a photo outside on a blanket with Allen, as “just lying in the grass” is one of her favorite activities.
“I haven’t felt up for a whooole lot recently, but some days just walking in the backyard and lying down in the grass is everything I need: fresh air and sunshine,” she wrote. Steinfeld has reached the point in her pregnancy where she’s keeping her nails short, hair in a braid, and wearing sweatpants that look like jeans.
Hailee Steinfeld Seemed to Hint She’d Join Her ‘Sinners’ Castmates at the Oscars
After skipping The Actor Awards, Steinfeld gushed over her fellow cast in Beau Society. “There’s so much more I could say about this inspiring cast and crew, but this week I’ve been smiling ear to ear more than usual.
“As we inch closer to the Oscars, I’m getting extra emotional and reflective about my time on this set with these people.”

In the most recent issue, a fan asked if there’s a moment from filming or a press promo that still makes her smile, and her answer seemed to hint she’ll make it to the awards ceremony.
“I want to use a specific moment to answer this question,” she wrote in the March 13 issue. “But at this moment, being two days away from the Oscars, I know there is no one single particular moment that can encapsulate what this filming experience meant to me. These people have left a mark on me and on my heart that will never go away.”
