Bleacher Report: Sonny Styles is an impressive athlete with the necessary skills to be an excellent coverage linebacker in the NFL and a top-tier backer in the 2026 NFL draft class.

Why Styles makes sense for the Jets

At 6-foot-5, Styles might be a bit slender at 244 pounds, but he's been a playmaker at the second level of the Buckeyes defense. A former safety, Styles had one of the most impressive performances of anybody at the NFL Combine, and he could be a real weapon for Aaron Glenn. While he still has some improving to do in terms of play recognition, Styles' athleticism makes him a potential game-changing linebacker.

The Jets have brought veteran Demario Davis back in free agency, and having Styles under his wing could be a perfect pairing.

Why Styles makes sense for the Giants

The Giants' linebacker group is in a state of flux. Bobby Okereke is gone, but fellow veteran Tremaine Edmunds is in. Micah McFadden is back on a one-year, prove-it deal, but he missed basically all of the 2025 season with a serious foot injury. By drafting Styles, the Giants would get younger and much more athletic at the linebacker position.

SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes has previously reported that the Giants are high on Styles, and it's easy to see why. The Ohio State product could be a force in new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson's defense.
