Caicedo Names The Liverpool Midfielder Who Is "So Good" - It Isn't Szoboszlai

**Moises Caicedo has revealed that he is a big fan of Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.**

The Ecuadorian international was asked about which Premier League stars he rates, and he named the Dutchman, along with his successor at Brighton, Carlos Baleba:

“The other player I like is Gravenberch. So good. So good. And Baleba as well. Both of them.”

“They are so good. And yeah, I normally watch them when they play. So yeah, I enjoy when they play.”

Gravenberch may not be playing for Liverpool if Caicedo had joined

------------------------------------------------------------------

The irony in Caicedo’s remarks is that the Dutchman arrived at Anfield just a couple of weeks after the Ecuadorian rejected a move to Merseyside.

Even though the Reds tabled a £111m offer for Caicedo, he opted to join Chelsea, having already promised the Blues that he would sign for them.

After a difficult first season, Gravenberch was converted into a no.6 by head coach [**Arne Slot**](https://walkon.com/blog/liverpool-injury-news-alisson-becker-2/), which is the exact same position that Caicedo plays in.

Szoboszlai has had a better season

----------------------------------

While Gravenberch played an integral role in helping Liverpool win the Premier League, he has struggled to fully recapture that form during the 2025/26 campaign.

Most of his teammates have also had the same issue, including Caicedo’s former Brighton midfield partner Alexis Mac Allister. Dominik Szoboszlai is really the only one, along with Hugo Ekitike, who has been performing at their absolute best.

Gravenberch has recently signed a new contract, committing himself to the Reds until the summer of 2032, and fans will be hoping that he can start producing consistent performances again over the coming months. Arne Slot needs a strong end to the season to secure Champions League qualification or he could face the axe.
