Arsenal won it late against a resilient Everton, with two big goals from Mikel Arteta’s substitutes.
Max Dowman, Piero Hincapie and Viktor Gyokeres, all came off the bench and combined to score the opener in the 89th minute, before Gyokeres, Gabriel Martinelli (also a sub) and Dowman were all involved to see the 16-year-old race away and become the Premier League’s youngest ever scorer.
The first half was quite an even affair, but Arsenal found their rhythm in the second and dominated proceedings, eventually breaking through in the final minutes.
It went on to be an even better night with title rivals Manchester City only managing a draw against relegation-threatened West Ham.
