Of the seven pre-draft visits that have been reported for the Cleveland Browns, just one of them is on defense. That rightly reflects their priorities for an offense that needs a significant infusion of talent, but it's still noteworthy that Oklahoma pass rusher R Mason Thomas is the one defender the Browns are bringing in for a visit to this point.
Thomas isn't the type of edge defender the Browns have typically targeted. He's small, just 6'2" 241 pounds. He's got shorter arms and small hands, plus he's been a non-factor against the run. Given where he's projected to go, Thomas wouldn't be my preference.
Nevertheless, if the Browns were to pull the trigger and draft Thomas, there's a specific appeal for the defense of the Browns.
