One win in five Premier League games has seen the pressure weigh heavily on Liam Rosenior’s shoulders, and some sources claim that a possible sacking is not entirely off the cards.
Draws with Leeds and Burnley saw Rosenior say Chelsea had set fire to four points, before the Blues were beaten by Arsenal at The Emirates. Chelsea responded with a 4-1 win at Villa, but the reprieve didn’t last.
A hammering at PSG was followed by a home defeat to Newcastle on Saturday. The attitude of the players was back under the microscope, with Jamie Redknapp hammering defender Wesley Fofana.
Who do you prefer – Liam Rosenior or Enzo Maresca?
Let us know why in the comments!
Gary Neville might think Chelsea will still finish in the top five, largely due to Aston Villa’s freefall, but what of the position of Rosenior as manager? Well, sources claim his job is already under scrutiny.

According to Sky Sports, some sources close to Chelsea’s boardroom claim that some upstairs at Stamford Bridge reckon Rosenior will not be in the dugout come the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Rosenior got off to a superb start but the pressure is ramping up as the fixture list gets tough. What is frustrating for those of a Chelsea persuasion is consistency, pumping Villa but losing to Newcastle.
It is claimed that there are concerns regarding Rosenior’s ability to lead Chelsea in the long term. A judgement that has been claimed to have been made just two months into Rosenior’s time as boss.
Rosenior deserves time, but will Todd Boehly give it to him?
Rosenior arrived at Chelsea in a lose-lose situation. Had he proved successful, it would have been all down to the foundations put in place by Enzo Maresca. Struggle, as he has done of late, it’s on him.
How many points will be enough for fifth place?
Chelsea currently sit on 48 points.
It is an unforgiving task being Chelsea manager and while a sacking is not foreseeable between now and the end of the season, a managerial merry-go-round is expected this summer among big teams.
Real Madrid, Man United, Tottenham and plenty more will want a new man in the dugout. Will Rosenior get the chance to remain as Blues gaffer? He deserves more time simply because he’s not yet had it.
