Denver has had a quiet offseason, but they feel like they can be contenders once again in the AFC next season. Quarterback Bo Nix getting injured in the AFC Divisional Round against the Buffalo Bills changed things for them entirely. Head coach Sean Payton is also trying to win a Super Bowl with the Broncos. He also won one before with the New Orleans Saints.

Saints running back Alvin Kamara has one year remaining on his contract and is 30 years old. They just signed running back Travis Etienne Jr. in free agency and many wonder if Kamara could potentially be traded at some point this offseason. Moe Moton of BleacherReport.com thinks that the Broncos could potentially trade for him this offseason. Moton said,

“In the early waves of free agency, the New Orleans Saints signed Travis Etienne (pronounced Ay-Chan), to a four-year, $52 million contract.

In the wake of that move, ESPN’sAdam Schefterreported there are questions about Alvin Kamara’s future in New Orleans. Head coach Kellen Mooredidn’t have definitive answersabout the running back’s future regarding retirement.

Kamara has played nine seasons with the Saints. He signed a two-year extension in October of 2024, and his contract will bevoidedafter the 2026 season.

Etienne and Kamara could co-exist in the backfield, with the latter taking on a lighter workload in his age-31 term. Then again, teams may inquire about the five-time Pro Bowler who’s still one of the league’s best pass-catching tailbacks.

No NFL head coach knows Kamara more than Denver Broncos lead skipper Sean Payton. They worked together for five years in New Orleans. Perhaps the two would be open to a reunion in the Mile High City.”

Kamara rushed for 471 yards on 131 carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 3.6 yards per carry. He also caught 33 passes for 186 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 5.6 yards per reception. Kamara would be a good fit with the Broncos. It would be beneficial for both parties if they moved on from each other. Payton and Kamara being reunited in Denver, Colorado would no doubt help out Nix.
