Chelsea ready to make transfer decision on €100m star in the coming months

Chelsea have formulated a plan to get Mykhailo Mudryk’s career back on track after spending a long time away from football.

The 25-year-old was once seen as one of Europe’s most promising young attackers but he had struggled to adapt to life at Chelsea and a doping ban halted his progress even further.

However, Chelsea are ready to help him begin the long road back and Foot Mercato reports that the Blues are planning to send him to RC Strasbourg on loan.

Mudryk hasn’t played for Chelsea since scoring in a 2-0 win over Heidenheim in the Europa Conference League back in November 2024.

He has now spent over a year serving a suspension after being found guilty of doping. With the Ukrainian forward nearing the end of his suspension, his next steps have become a major topic.

Mudryk still has five years left on his existing contract with Chelsea.

There have been rumours that the Blues may opt to terminate his contract but Chelsea are unwilling to forfeit their €100 million investment on the Ukrainian international.

Rather than cutting their losses, Chelsea are determined to give Mudryk another shot at redeeming himself at the top level.

At the moment, the plan is reportedly to send Mudryk to Strasbourg once his suspension ends.

He needs regular first team minutes to rebuild his confidence and sharpness and he’s more likely to get regular football at Strasbourg than Chelsea.

There is no guarantee that he will get the necessary minutes at Chelsea and spending weeks on the bench would do little to help him reignite his career.

Moving to Strasbourg would give Mudryk the chance to compete at the highest level, while taking some of the pressure away from the spotlight of the Premier League.

If he performs in Ligue 1, it’ll increase Chelsea’s chances of recouping their significant investment in the winger.

The Blues are currently in a battle to secure a top four finish. They’re also preparing for a crucial Champions League last 16 second leg battle against Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge.
